Je me présente, je suis Laura, second violon à l’ orchestre symphonique de Montgomery Alabama USA. je joue sur Neolin en bois exotique depuis 5 mois( je jouais avant sur un violon de luthier de 1800, de bonne qualité). Voici compté ci dessous ma romance avec ce qui est aujourd’hui MON Neolin.
I have been practicing with an exotic wood Neolin for 5 months. I previously played with a good quality 19 th century violin from a Mirecourt violin maker. I want to share with you my love story with my Neolin.
When the Neolin, which is made from exotic wood arrived from the postal service, I was surprised by its shades, the weight of the neck alarmed me but I was seduced by its design! Let’s give it a try!
At the end of the first month, as I got my bearings; shifts, and the weight of the neck… it then felt natural.
Speaking about sonority, it’s like driving a Ferrari that you have to learn to master.
Every day, I feel new sensations, and I fall more in love with it. After a few month of getting along with it, I can no longer live without it.
The first time I brought it at a rehearsal, I felt embarrassed, imagine: coming to a classical world with such an innovative instrument!
Et voilà! Thanks to its dark wood tones, it blends very well with its surroundings. The exotic wood Neolin is perfect for a concert artist who wants to be daring but not overpowering.
The Neolin is easy to tune up ( thanks to the gears!) and the good hold of the tune (indoors or outdoors). It regularly leaves my colleagues discouraged since they have to tune up their violins often. And since it’s a multi-purpose instrument, when I feel bored because of the serious orchestra work I just have to plug in my amp, the effects pedal, and here we go!
Also, the powerful sound of this instrument is just perfect when I play an expressive tango.
Today, when I happen to play on a classical violin, it feels like a toy without consistency.
No way. I would never go back to the violin.
Lorsque le Neolin en bois exotique est arrivé par la poste, ses teintes m’ont surprises, le poids du manche m’ a effrayée: mais son design m’a séduit!! Alors pourquoi ne pas essayer?!
Le premier moi écoulé, j’ avais définitivement pris mes marques avec lui( démanchés, poids du manche… ) Côté sonorité, c’ est une Ferrari qu’ il faut apprendre à maîtriser. Chaque jour, j’ ai de nouvelles sensations, chaque jour, il m’ attire toujours plus dans ses filets. Et, après quelques mois maintenant de vie commune avec lui; je ne me vois plus m’ en séparer.
J’ étais légèrement gênée la première fois que je l’ ai emmené en répétition. En effet, arriver dans un univers autant classique avec un instrument novateur tel que le Neolin!!
No problem, grâce à ses teintes boisées, il se fond admirablement bien dans le décors. Le Neolin en bois exotique est parfait pour un concertiste souhaitant oser sans choquer.
De plus, la facilité de réglage( grâce au mécanique) et la bonne tenue de ce réglage( dehors comme dedans) écœure régulièrement mes collègues astreints à ré accorder régulièrement( tant pis pour eux).
Et comme c’est un instrument polyvalent, lorsque le sérieux de l’ orchestre me barbe, je branche mon ampli, ma pédale wah-wah, et je me détends grave!( je pense l’ initier à la country cet été!)
Aujourd’hui, quand il m’ arrive de jouer sur un violon classique, j’ ai l’ impression d’ avoir dans les mains un jouet sans consistance.
