Mr Houdard had asked me to design an instrument for their play “au fil des myths”. The whole decor of this play was made from rope, threads, strings,… He needed an instrument which fit into this ambiance… I thought of the spinning wheel as the origin of the thread, mixed with an electrical violoncello. The result actually plays like a cello, wheel and mandrel turn, but you cannot spin any wool with it, sorry/Actually, the visitors of the play were as intrigued by the instrument as they were by the play !
